Advent Devotional

There are so many things to wonder about at Christmas. We wonder what it means for God to become human? How a virgin could have a baby? What made these wise people follow a star in the first place? Why God chose to come? What it was like to hear the angels singing about the birth of Jesus? Behind all those questions is a deep sense of wonder and awe about our God who comes as a baby in an unexplainable way to save us.

We see a little bit of it in the child-like wonder of the season. The contagious joy found in singing Christmas carols. The house all decked out in Christmas lights. The hope of seeing your loved one’s face when you found them the perfect Christmas gift.

Pick up a devotional at the church, download below or in the weekly Soundings or read daily on Facebook.  Listen to our soundtrack below via Spotify.

Help those in need this Advent by collecting one item of food each day to give to the St Mary's Food Bank. Bring your food to church on Christmas Eve or by January 7.

  • The Christmas Star

On the first Christmas, people found themselves following a mysterious Star that led them to the truth of God’s love for all humanity. We light these paper lantern stars as a beacon of hope, peace, joy and love in our weary world. May this light shine in your home just like it did for those who followed the Star to the Christ Child.
