  • Christian Education Director (part-Time)

    Purpose of Position
    Provide spiritual leadership to encourage growth in faith throughout the congregation. Serve as a leader for creating, planning and implementing programs for youth, children and adults. Recommend and evaluate opportunities to grow Mission del Sol’s Christian Education programs with a particular focus on young families. 

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Working with the Christian Ed Commission to coordinate, implement and maintain all children and youth programs. Including finding volunteers, choosing curriculum and planning special events.

    2. Engage and encourage our students and families.

    3. Establish relationships with children, youth and their parents.

    4. Develop a ministry team of teachers and volunteers to help the program excel.

    5. Organize several special family events throughout the year.

    6. Provide media/communication for all Christian Education programs.

    7. Be present and available at Sunday Morning Worship and special events.


    Minimum Qualifications


    Education: Pursuing or obtained Bachelor’s Degree in religious studies or Christian Education, or equivalent experience is preferred.


    Experience:

    1. Love for God’s church and people and a strong commitment to work for the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ.

    2. A life that reflects the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, generosity and self-control [Galatians 5].

    3. A heart for and experience in outreach and mission.

    4. The ability to help create a welcoming and safe place for everyone.

    5. A talent for having fun and receiving and bringing joy.

    6. Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills, computer and social media fluency, musical appreciation desirable, Biblical understanding, and the ability to work in a collaborative, team-based leadership style with other staff and volunteers.

    7. A discerning thoughtfulness that can work with the congregational structure and within established policies of the church while also empowering the church to reflect, reevaluate and reimagine when necessary.


    Compensation


    Salary commensurate with education and experience. Hourly Rate: $18-$20.
