Stewardship Packet
The heart of our stewardship campaign is not simply about sustaining the budget. We have to ask ourselves the question, “What things are really worth sharing our time, talents and financial resources?” We only have so much to give and we want it to be worth it.
We already know sharing what we have at Mission del Sol IS worth it because of the difference we made this past year. We believe serving God by caring for our neighbors is always worth it. We are God’s hands and feet in the world, especially when it comes to hunger and homelessness. We know it is worth it when we help folks through Family Promise by providing a bed and meals for families in need, or dinner and fellowship for individuals sleeping at church through I-HELP. Or in a few hours of time making sack lunches for the East Valley Men’s Center or filling grocery carts with food at St. Mary’s Food Bank. Our service IS worth it because it connects our community with those we serve through God’s holy presence.
What makes growing worth it is that it shapes us into the people God calls us to be. In a world that often measures worth by productivity and possession, we proclaim our worth in the grace and gratitude found in our Savior. Every time we gather for music practice, to learn through Bible studies, small groups and Sunday School, and in worship, we remember we belong not to ourselves but to the One who created, redeemed and loves us. We hope you find our Advent services, Lenten Soup Suppers, Advent Festival, Eggstravanza, Blessing of the Animals Service and Sunday mornings worth it!
Making connections at church is worth it because they remind us that we are not alone in this world. In a culture of isolation, individualism, and busyness, we live differently. Our community is shaped by Christ’s love and each person belongs. These connections are not perfect, but they are worth it- because through them we find belonging, purpose, and glimpses of God’s kingdom on earth. As you join together at small groups, Saturday hikes, hospitality after worship and monthly happy hour gatherings, connections grow as we share life together. These connections matter and they are worth it!
Sharing our time, talents, and financial resources at Mission del Sol is worth it because every time we share, we participate in God’s transforming work in the world. Every act of giving, both large and small, becomes part of something greater than ourselves, shaping lives, strengthening faith, and extending Christ’s love beyond our walls. Your financial gifts help to give our staff raises, maintain our facilities and grow our Family Ministries program. The Vision Campaign will lower our mortgage from $1.2 million to about $300,000 at the end of 2025. It has all been worth it!
As faithful disciples of Jesus, we believe it is worth it to support the work and ministries that God has called us to do together as the Mission del Sol community. More importantly, we at Mission del Sol believe YOU are worth it. Together we will see what God can do with our time, talents and financial resources as a community. Join us on Commitment Sunday and at the Time and Talent Fair to see what God says is worth it for us in 2026!
In July of 2023, Casa del Sol Affordable Housing received 501c3 status. Since then, the housing situation has only gotten worse. The Board has been networking, applying for grants, and accepting donations. After lots of prayer and discernment, it was decided that our first project will be purchasing a home near Mission del Sol for a family or group of individuals who qualify for housing vouchers.
We need your help in three ways:
- Spread the word about this important mission to provide housing.
- Give financially to support our first housing project.
- Give to Casa del Sol by signing up for Frys community rewards by searching for Casa del Sol OR LE341 under Community Rewards on your Fry’s app.
We can’t wait to see how many lives will be touched by the call of this community. Contact Susan Hernandez, Mike Herrmann or Pastor Kelsy to find out how you can get involved.
You are invited to the
time and Talent Fair
October 26 | 10:30 a.m. | courtyard
Find out how you can have enough to share your time and talents here at Mission del Sol and in the community at one event. Walk around to different tables and learn how you have enough to serve, grow, connect and give. All ages are encouraged to come and sign up to share one of your gifts of time and talents. There are a few ideas below to get the ideas flowing. For questions, contact the office.
